1. Welwitschia Mirabilis: Plant With Incredible Endurance

The look of this plan is not good at all. But this plant is so unique. The plant come from Namibia and just having 2 leaves and 1 stem and root. The 2 leaves will become larger alike alien. The stem will grow bigger but not taller. This plant will grow and some of them can reach 2 meters in height and 8 meters in width.  The age of the plant can reach 400 to 1500 years and will not die even there’s no rain for 5 years. The taste of this plant is so sting, whether It’s raw or cooked. That’s way the plant are called Onyanga that mean a desert onion.



2. Dionaea Muscipula : Flies Catcher Plant

This Flies catcher plant is a carnivore that famous for its natural trap that work active and efficient. 2 leaves that stuck on this plant is full of sensitive fur that detect the existence of anything from ants, flies or any other insects.



3. Rafflesia Arnoldii : The Biggest Flower On Earth

This exotic plan is so rare. The color of the flower is  not beautiful and spotted. The name is Rafflesia arnoldii. 1 of 16 species from the genus of Rafflesia, the biggest flower on earth. It just can be found  in Indonesia (Sumatra, Kalimantan and Java) and Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah).

Rafflesia arnoldii, nowadays are classified as a family of Euphobiaceace, can grow to a diameter of 1 meter and weight to 7 -11 kgs.

The flower just can bloom for 3 -7 days only. When the flower bloom, It smell very stingy, that’s way It’s named corpse flower. The unique smell of the flower will attract insect to come and will help spread the flower. Just 10 -20% of the stamens will grow as new flower. In 9 month with a little lucky the flower will bloom again.

4. Desmodium Gyrans: The Dancing Plant

Darwin called it Hedysarum, modern botanists call it Desmodium Gyrans, or rather, Codariocalyx Motorius. People call it “Grass Dance” or Telegraph plants or  Semaphores plant, because the movement is like dancing leaves, or like movement of semaphore code. This plant is an easy to grow plant and will “dance” at the time of there’s much sun or dry time.



5. Euphorbia Obesa: Baseball Plant

Euphorbia Obesa, also known as Baseball plants, usually grown in the Great Karoo, South Africa. Population is in danger as these plants are often pursued by collectors without thinking of planting again. This makes some organizations within and outside the country react to protect. Although the natural habitat of Euphorbia obesa is still threatened, but now the plant is widely cultivated. It help much in protecting this plant as the plant traded is the one cultivated rather than from the one from natural habitat.



6. Amorphophallus Titanum: Corpse Flower

This flower could grow as higher as an adult, and can spread a stinging smell of corpse. Called Titan Arum, in Indonesia, also known as the “corpse flower” because of the smell. This flower is a rare phenomenon because this flower is very rare to bloom. This flower is breeding with the help of insect pollinators that come because of the smell.



7. Baobab: The Tree Bottle

Baobab is the common name of Adansonia genus  that consist of 8 species of trees, originally from Madagascar. Also known as bottle trees, not only because of its shape which is similar to the bottle, but this tree is also usually able to hold approximately 300 liters of water. Amazingly the age of this tree can reach 500 years.

Cinnabari Dracaena or dragon tree is a unique tree from Socotra archipelago.  This tree is one of the bizarre trees in the world from the islands of Socotra because of its shape that like an umbrella. 9. Selaginella Lepidophylla: Resurrection Plants

Also known as the Rose of Jericho, Selaginella Lepidophylla is a bizarre desert plant species because of its ability to survive even though preserved by drying. During dry weather in the natural habitat, the stems will shrink into a small ball and falling back when exposed to moisture. Originally grown in the Chihuahuan desert.



10. Mimosa Pudica: The Shame Princess

Mimosa Pudica Found in Indonesia, also found in the tropics of Central and South America. When touched or shaken the leaves will close and would reopen in a few minutes. Like have a feeling of shame.
